Drainage and plumbing across South London
Working across South London
South of the river is the far edge of our patch and still within the hour. Clapham and Wandsworth are Victorian terraces with shared drains and converted stacks; Croydon and Bromley are 1930s semis; Kingston and Wimbledon are bigger plots with long runs. Surveys, relining and planned commercial jetting keep us busy across the south, alongside the emergency calls.
South London response times, area by area
Every South London postcode is within the hour from our Hendon depot, 24 hours a day, at the same £49 call-out. Crossing the river is the longest part of the drive, so ring as soon as you spot trouble and we will give you a real arrival time on the phone.
Clapham, Brixton and Stockwell (SW4, SW2, SW9). Victorian terraces converted into two or three flats. The stack and the drain are shared, so a blockage in one flat soon becomes everybody’s problem. We work out whose section it is before anyone gets a bill.
Wandsworth and Battersea (SW18, SW11). Long rows of terraces with drains running under the gardens, and plenty of kitchen extensions built over the old run. That is a common reason for a camera survey before any digging.
Southwark and Lambeth (SE1, SE11, SE17). Estates, mansion blocks and restaurants. Communal stacks and commercial grease make up most of the calls.
Lewisham and Greenwich (SE13, SE10). Victorian villas and terraces, many on sloping streets. Roots and cracked clay joints are regular finds on the camera.
Croydon and Bromley (CR0, BR1). 1930s semis with clay drains and big street trees. Root ingress is the usual cause of a slow gully here, and jetting followed by relining is often the fix that lasts.
Kingston and Wimbledon (KT1, SW19). Bigger plots, so the run from the house to the sewer can be long. A survey shows exactly where the fault is before anyone digs.
Thames Water owns the public sewers across South London. When a blockage is on their side of the boundary, we say so on the day.

What people ask us across South London
Straight answers on times, coverage and cost. Still stuck? Call 07426 476786, an engineer picks up.
How fast can you reach South London?
Within the hour from our Hendon depot, 24 hours a day. South London is the furthest from our base, so we give you an honest arrival time for your postcode on the phone rather than a promise we can't keep.
Which parts of South London do you cover?
Clapham, Brixton, Wandsworth, Battersea, Greenwich, Lewisham, Peckham, Camberwell, Dulwich and Streatham. If you're just outside, call and we'll confirm your postcode in seconds.
What does a call-out cost?
£49 covers the visit and the diagnosis. The engineer then prices the job in front of you before starting, so you approve the cost before any work begins. No hourly meter, no surprise invoice.
Do you guarantee the work?
Yes. All our workmanship carries a 12-month guarantee, and we're insured with £5m public liability. The engineer quotes the job on site before starting, so there are no surprises.
Do you work nights, weekends and bank holidays?
Every day, every hour, at the same £49 call-out. A working engineer answers the phone, not a call centre, and the person who quotes the job is the one who turns up.
A drain in my garden is shared with next door. Who pays?
If a drain is shared with a neighbour or runs beyond your boundary, it's often Thames Water's responsibility since the 2011 private-sewer transfer, not yours. We'll tell you which it is before you pay for anything, and we can clear it either way.
