Shower runs hot and cold or won't hold temperature
Weak flow from the shower
Mixer valve leaking or stiff
Bath waste leaking below
Water backing up in the shower tray
Bath tap dripping
A thermostatic mixer that won’t hold temperature is a cartridge. Weak flow is pressure or a blocked head. Both are diagnosable in minutes.
What happens when we arrive
1
Diagnose
Flow and temperature at the valve, pressure at the property, waste and trap checked.
2
Repair or replace
Cartridge, valve, bath taps, waste and trap replaced from stock; a new mixer fitted if the old one is beyond it.
3
Test
Hot, cold, mixed, and the waste under a full drain.
What's on the van
Thermostatic cartridges for common makes
Bar mixers and bath-shower mixers
Bath and shower wastes and traps
Flexible hoses and heads
Silicone and seals
What it can and can't fix
Mixer showers, bath taps, wastes, traps and the pipework to them. Electric showers and power-shower pumps on the electrical side are outside our trade.
Timing and price
A cartridge or waste is an hour. A new mixer valve two to three hours.
There are no prices on this page because the price depends on what we find and where. What we can promise is how it works: the call-out is £49, the engineer looks at the job and quotes it in front of you before touching anything, and the quote you agree is the price on the invoice. If we find something different from what you described, we tell you before continuing. The £49 call-out covers the visit and the diagnosis.
