Water backing up, a gurgling toilet or a smell from the outside gully. We clear it with rods or high-pressure jetting, show you the camera footage, and tell you why it happened.
A blocked drain usually shows up as water backing up, a gurgling toilet or a bad smell from an outside gully. Fixsy clears blocked drains across London with drain rods or high-pressure jetting, then runs a CCTV camera through the pipe so you can see it is clear and why it blocked. The call-out is £49, the clearance is priced before work starts, and most blockages are cleared on the first visit.
Sounds familiar?
Water backing up when the washing machine or dishwasher drains
Toilet flushes slowly, or the bath fills when the toilet is flushed
Gurgling from plugholes or the toilet
A smell from the outside gully, worse after rain
Water sitting in the manhole chamber or coming up through the grid
More than one fixture slow at the same time
One slow sink is usually a trap. Two or more fixtures slow together is the drain, and the sooner it’s cleared, the less chance of it coming up through the floor.

What happens when we arrive
1
Find where it's blocked
We lift the manhole, check flow at each chamber and, if it isn’t obvious, put the camera down. You see what we see.
2
Clear it properly
Rods for a simple soft blockage. High-pressure jetting for grease, scale, silt and roots, which rods only push further along.
3
Prove it and explain it
Camera check after clearing, water test, and a straight answer on why it blocked and whether it’ll happen again.
What's on the van
4,000 psi jetting unit with 25mm to 150mm nozzles
CCTV camera with recording, so you keep the footage
Drain rods, root cutter and chain flail
Manhole keys, gully grabs and wet vac
Test bungs and dye for tracing
What it can and can't fix
Jetting clears grease, scale, silt, wipes and roots, and clears them for good rather than pushing them along. It cannot fix a collapsed, cracked or displaced pipe; if the camera shows one of those we stop, show you, and quote for a repair or relining before doing anything else.
Timing and price
Most blocked drains are cleared in 45 to 90 minutes. Jetting a long run or clearing a manhole full of silt takes longer, and we’ll say so before we start.
There are no prices on this page because the price depends on what we find and where. What we can promise is how it works: the call-out is £49, the engineer looks at the job and quotes it in front of you before touching anything, and the quote you agree is the price on the invoice. If we find something different from what you described, we tell you before continuing. The £49 call-out covers the visit and the diagnosis.

Drain jetting
4,000 psi water jetting clears grease, scale, silt and roots that rods only push further down.
Yes, £49. It covers the engineer’s visit and the diagnosis. Anything beyond that is quoted on site before it starts, and you decide whether to go ahead.
Yes, and our guide tells you what is safe to try. Don’t pour caustic drain cleaner into a fully blocked drain; it sits in the pipe and burns the engineer who clears it.
Inside your boundary and serving only your property, it’s yours. Shared drains and anything beyond the boundary are usually the sewerage undertaker’s. We’ll tell you which when we lift the manhole.
