Water or sewage rising in the chamber, lifting the cover, or spreading across the garden. We clear the run with high-pressure jetting, flush the chamber, and test the flow before we leave.
Water sitting in the chamber when nothing is running

Neighbour's manhole overflowing too (a shared run)
A chamber that only surcharges in rain points to a blocked run downstream or a public sewer problem. One that fills when you use water is your drain. We work out which before we start.
Manhole questions are answered on the phone any hour: call 07426 476786 and the on-call engineer will tell you what to do now.
For manhole the call-out is £49 and the work is quoted on site before it starts.
Every manhole job is camera-checked or pressure-tested before we leave, and carries a 12-month guarantee.

What happens when we arrive
1
Lift and look
Cover off, flow checked, next chamber down checked. If the downstream chamber is empty, the blockage is between the two.
2
Jet from the right end
We jet from the downstream chamber back towards the blockage so the debris is pulled into the flowing section, not pushed into your house.
3
Flush, test, check
Chamber washed down, benching cleared, water run from the house to prove the flow, and a camera pass if the cause isn’t obvious.
What's on the van
4,000 psi jetting unit with a 60m hose
Chamber pump and wet vac for standing sewage
Manhole keys for every cover type
CCTV camera and locator
Disinfectant and PPE for a clean finish
What it can and can't fix
Jetting clears the run and we pump out the chamber. If the chamber itself has collapsed benching or a broken outlet, that’s a repair, and if the blockage is in the public sewer beyond your boundary we’ll tell you and who to report it to.
Timing and price
Usually one to two hours including pumping out the chamber.
There are no prices on this page because the price depends on what we find and where. What we can promise is how it works: the call-out is £49, the engineer looks at the job and quotes it in front of you before touching anything, and the quote you agree is the price on the invoice. If we find something different from what you described, we tell you before continuing. The £49 call-out covers the visit and the diagnosis.

Often needed with this
Blocked drains
Cleared the same day with rods or high-pressure jetting, then camera-checked so it stays clear.
Shared drains are usually the sewerage undertaker’s. We’ll tell you when we lift the cover and, if it’s theirs, we’ll say so and won’t charge for the visit.
